Polar Bear Plunge - Jan 28, 2006

Ravens Roost 18 had 20 members participate in the Maryland State Police Polar Bear Plunge at Sandy Point State Park. We raised over $6400 for Special Olympics Maryland. More than twenty different clubs in the Council of Baltimore Ravens Roosts combined to raise about $74,000 for this noble cause. The grand total for the 2006 Plunge exceeded one million dollars and set a Guiness World Record as the largest charitable event of its kind in history!

Special kudos to Darryl Despeaux, president of RR 65, Pasadena. Darryl completed the Super Plunge (diving in the 38 degree water every hour for 24 hours) and raised over $30,000 himself!
