Ravens
Roost Council in Westminster Christmas Parade
November 28
RR 18 Glen Burnie, RR 65 Pasadena, and RR 88 Paradise joined together
to build an electric float for the Council of Baltimore Ravens Roosts.
The float was seen by well over 7,000 people in the "Miracle on Main Street
Holiday Lights Parade" in Westminster, MD. We led chants of "Let's Go
Ravens!" all the way down the parade route and many, many Ravens Fans
responded.
Here
is Dan's description of the float entry:
The Council of Baltimore Ravens Roosts is proud to present our first
entry in the Westminster Holiday Light Parade. Our theme is "Roosts
Spreading Holiday Cheer All Year Long!". The Council is made up of 55
individual Ravens Roost Fan Clubs in Maryland, Pennsylvania and Delaware,
and we attend the Ravens Training Camp every year at McDaniel College.
We believe in camaraderie through football, fun, and involvement in
our communities! Our charter is reflected in our float. The Ravens mascot
Poe is shown riding a Tidal wave representing the Council's strong support
of Special Olympics Maryland. Each year over 300 Roost members plunge
in the freezing waters of the bay, raising over $100,000 at the Maryland
State Police Polar Bear Plunge! The huge pile of presents represent
the various charities and community projects supported by the individual
Roosts all over our great State. The Council of Ravens Roosts wishes
you all a Happy Holiday Season and sends along a very merry … GO RAVENS!!!
Many Thanks to Rob Keil, his sister Betsy and neice Sierra, Garry Mueller,
and introducing Barb Mueller as the SOMD Polar Bear ! The Roosts and
the Council as a whole were well represented and a great time was had
by all!
Thanks
